Puddle Jumping in Wash Park

Jumping in Puddles at Wash Park

Puddle Jumping In Wash Park

When Graham’s mom contacted me about photographing their family portraits again, she had a vision of Graham jumping in puddles with large pine trees in the background. We were able to make it happen in Denver’s Wash Park. It was so fun and Graham had a blast getting wet and dirty. Isn’t that what childhood is about?

Sometimes it can be fun to have an activity during family portraits. It keeps the children interested and allows me to capture unforced, natural moments with them. A few activity ideas that have worked well: bubbles, art, baking cookies, playing dress-up, tag, the playground and a water fight.

My favorite part of family sessions is coming back to their home a few days after our shoot. This is when the family gets to view all their images and make their final decision on how they want to enjoy their images. Graham’s mom chose a large canvas print of Graham jumping in the puddles and then a metal print of he and his dad. I just love when families choose to have their photos printed. Photographs are meant to be printed, viewed and enjoyed.
