This wedding was just perfect. The sun was out, and the air was warm. SK Events did a beautiful job with the wedding decorations. They turned the Garden of the Gods Club and Resort into an elegant garden with a large floral arch that the couple said their vows under. The aisle was lined with greenery as well.
They had a private first look where they got to finally see each other. They loved having time to enjoy the day just the two of them. We created wedding portraits overlooking the mountains. Although I may pose a couple, generally they tend to make it their own which is exactly what happened. These two were so happy to be with each other that they didn’t need much encouraging to hug, kiss or snuggle.
The ceremony was officiated by a pastor and was very personal. It’s always nice to be able to get to know the couple through their wedding ceremony. Guests laughed as the bride's long veil flew up in the air. Throughout the ceremony, her veil continued to be blown by the breeze. It made for pretty photographs. Immediately following the ceremony, they signed their wedding license.
Cocktail hour allowed guests to mingle on the lawn as well as play various lawn games. The reception was a sit down dinner. Toasts were given, making guests laugh and cry. As the sun set, creating a beautiful sky, I took the couple out for some final portraits. This is generally my favorite time of a wedding day. All the nerves are gone, everyone has had something to eat and drink and it’s just time to make some beautiful photographs. We then did a few more nighttime portraits at dusk when the sky is that beautiful rich blue color. I used my two Nikon D750s digital cameras to photograph this timeless wedding.
