About Me

• I am a proud Midwestern girl, hailing from the Chicago suburbs. And even though I’ve been in Colorado for 7 years, I will always root for the Cubs, da Bears, the Bulls and the Fighting Illini.

• I love Thai food. It’s like an explosion in your mouth.

• I wish I had never seen The Wire, just so I could discover it all over again. How great is Omar?

• I still keep in touch with my high school photography teacher, Mr. D. Through him, I discovered my hobby, my career, my passion and my love for the smell of fixer.

• I love beer – how could I not, my mom’s from Germany. Lucky for me, I live in the micro-brew capital of the country.

• German was my first language.

• I am a true oldest child. Just ask my brother.

• I thank God in my prayers every night for my husband.

• My favorite book is Lonesome Dove.

• I love my dog and my cat, and would have tons more if B would let me. I am such a sucker.

• I am fiercely loyal.

• I love bacon, bagels, stinky cheese, chocolate chip cookies and liverwurst. Just not all at once.

• I worked as a newspaper photographer for 5 years. I found my love for wedding and portrait photography after realizing I liked being at events when people actually wanted me there.

• I’ve been to 6 of the 7 continents. Antarctica here I come! Psst, it’s because my parents own a travel agency – Travelex International. Once again, lucky me.

• I like lists.

• I am privileged to have been one of the five percent accepted as a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association and am also a member of Martha Stewart’s Wedding Wire where you can write reviews and see other vendors I know.
